A wonderful 9ct white gold ring, bezel set with a cabochon cats eye chrysoberyl and flanked either side by two small diamonds, to a tapered polished shank.
Cat’s eye chrysoberyl is a strain of chrysoberyl, scientifically referred to as cymophane. This name finds its roots in the Greek words for ‘wave’ and ‘appearance’, referring to the hazy quality that cats eye chrysoberyl has that affects the surface of the stone. The cat’s eye name is deserved, as these stones have a milky white streak down the centre resembling a cat’s pupil.
Hallmarked to the inside of the band for 9ct Gold, Birmingham 2016.
The ring is in very good ready to wear condition.
The ring face measures approx 6.5mm long, 6mm wide and 4mm deep.
